The Houndmile Hard-Bottom Extender bridges the gap with solid, removable boards. Your whole back row becomes one flat, stable surface, from door to door. Press down on it: it stays level. No dip, no hole, no footwell.

Will it fit your car?

It fits most sedans, crossovers, mid-size SUVs and pickups with a full rear bench and headrests front and back. The hard platform is about 24 in (62 cm) from the rear seat to the front seatbacks; slide the front seats a little so it sits flat. Not for captain's chairs. Not sure? Honest notes

This is a comfort and seat-protection product, not a crash-tested restraint: always clip your dog in with a car-safety harness. The fabric is water-resistant, not waterproof; for soaking-wet dogs, add a towel on top. It isn't chew-proof.

Can people still sit in the back? It covers the whole back row, so you take it out for passengers. It comes out quickly.

Will my dog still slide? The boards give a flat floor instead of a sagging hammock. Many dogs settle faster with their own blanket on top for grip. Always use a car-safety harness.

How do I clean it? Wipe the fabric with a damp cloth. The boards slide out.
